The mission of the Maine Jewish Film Festival is to provide a forum for the presentation of films to enrich, educate and entertain a diverse community about the Jewish experience.
Our annual festival takes place over nine days in mid-March, and each year we bring a rich selection of films to Maine that otherwise wouldn’t get seen by audiences anywhere
else in the state. These screenings are enhanced by the participation of guest artists—filmmakers, producers, and actors—who attend the festival from all over the world.
Maine is one of the smallest cities in the United States to host an independent Jewish film festival. Our programming includes a wide variety of contemporary feature films,
documentaries and shorts. MJFF also organizes seasonal community events, including our annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Film Project each April.
