During the summer of 2007 I found myself in a bit of a quandary; I was inbetween projects, not sure of my next move and exploring new creative directions. Having a professional background in Photography(action/lifestyle) along with some studio experience, Dan Bryant of Make: recognized my talent and my need for a new challenge. Dan hired me to do the Simms Fly Fishing product photography (125 pieces) for their 2008 catalog.

This came at the perfect time in my career. It gave me a new focus and challenge... and a challenge it was. Having not dealt with a studio project of this scope, I spent close to a month studying, building forms, setting up and testing the studio's flow. The many steps to producing a final shot felt overwhelming at times, but having found an appreciation and love for the work, I took it all in stride.

I can say that this was one of the most challenging projects of my career and most memorable. In the end, the education and self satisfaction/accomplishment that I came away with was priceless. My appreciation goes to Dan and Simms for making this a fun and successful venture.
